A meeting of the minds was held at the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City, January 15-16, 2012. NAAMTA’s two-day Annual “Culture of Excellence” Symposium was noted as a big success by those in attendance.

A meeting of the minds was held at the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City, January 15-16, 2012. NAAMTA’s two-day Annual “Culture of Excellence” Symposium was noted as a success by those in attendance. Special Guests and medical personnel from Alliance Member organizations gathered to discuss Strategic Direction for medical elements of NAAMTA’s Accreditation. Among those invited to attend the Symposium were Medical Directors, Program Directors, Chief Flight Nurses, and Compliance Officers.

NAAMTA’s Alliance Symposium is a unique program based on the concept of coming together as a unified organization, using our collective knowledge and experience to discuss industry trends, and direct accreditation best practices.
As NAAMTA Alliance members, we welcomed the opportunity for Peer Association and free exchange of ideas as we discussed such topics as: How the 2009 EMS Classifications and Skills Competency Requirements affects NAAMTA’s Accreditation? When can we go skiing? How to strengthen our Alliance? How vital is Utilization Review (Event Trigger Recommendations) to your organization’s continued accreditation? How much guacamole did you consume?

“It was exciting to see our members engaged in the process of evaluating and defining the benchmarks by which they felt the medical transport industry should strive for in providing excellent and safe patient care,” stated Nancy Purcell, NAAMTA’s Medical Administrator.

The Symposium was a collaborative effort in solidifying the alliance concept of working together to forge applicable changes (like how much food can one person consume in one day?). Our motto “Partnering for Lifesaving Excellence” was strengthened through our Alliance members. With all the medical personnel, if anyone had needed CPR this was the place to be.
Mark your calendars now for next year’s Alliance Symposium to be held again at Hotel Monaco, January 14-15, 2013 (guacamole included).
