Independent Accreditation Authority
Our Role and IndependenceNAAMTA Global operates as an independent accreditation authority dedicated exclusively to medical transport and medical escort services. NAAMTA does not own, operate, or manage medical transport services and maintains no commercial or financial interest in the outcomes of accreditation decisions. Accreditation determinations are based solely on demonstrated compliance with established standards and requirements. Organizational independence, impartial evaluation, and objective decision-making are foundational principles of NAAMTA’s accreditation framework and are maintained across all accreditation activities.
Governance and OversightNAAMTA’s accreditation activities are governed through a defined oversight framework designed to ensure consistency, impartiality, and accountability. Governance responsibilities include oversight of accreditation processes, evaluator qualification, decision review, and continuous improvement activities. Oversight mechanisms include documented roles and responsibilities, management review, internal audit, and corrective action processes aligned with NAAMTA’s quality management system. These controls support objective accreditation decisions and ensure accreditation activities are conducted in accordance with established governance and quality principles.
Standards-Based AccreditationNAAMTA accreditation is based on defined standards and requirements developed specifically for medical transport and medical escort operations. Accreditation evaluations are evidence-based and assess organizational compliance with applicable standards, policies, and operational requirements. Standards are maintained and updated to reflect industry practices, regulatory expectations, and quality management principles. Accreditation evaluations may include documentation review, audit activities, and verification of ongoing compliance, ensuring consistent and objective application across accredited organizations.
Continuous Compliance and AccountabilityNAAMTA accreditation is not a one-time determination. Accreditation is maintained through ongoing oversight designed to support sustained compliance with applicable standards and requirements throughout the accreditation cycle. Accredited organizations are subject to continued monitoring, periodic review, and verification activities intended to confirm ongoing adherence to standards. When gaps or deficiencies are identified, corrective action processes are applied to ensure accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. This approach reinforces the integrity of NAAMTA accreditation and supports consistent, reliable oversight of medical transport operations.
Recognition and AcceptanceNAAMTA accreditation is recognized and accepted by U.S. government agencies and organizations that require independent oversight of medical transport operations. NAAMTA accreditation is utilized by medical transport operators supporting government agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Indian Health Services, and the Department of State. NAAMTA operates an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, providing an internationally recognized framework for governance, consistency, and continual improvement across accreditation activities.
